What is a Remote Start?
A remote starter, otherwise known as an “auto starter”, “car starter”, or simply “remote start”, is an electronic device that allows you to start your vehicle’s engine from outside of your vehicle. The hardest part about owning a remote start is remembering to turn the Heater on! The remote start disengages when the brake is pressed; without the key in the ignition or fob in the vehicle for push to start vehicles, the engine just dies. No one can climb in your car and drive away!
A remote start consists of two primary components: a control module or ‘brain’ installed inside the vehicle and a remote used to operate the module. Compustar designs remote starters to work with approximately 95% of vehicles on the road today, including manual transmissions, diesels, select hybrids, and luxury makes. Installing a Compustar remote starter in any compatible vehicle is completely safe and does not void or affect your factory warranty!
Compustar remotes have at least a 1-year warranty against defects. The control unit under the dash has a limited lifetime warranty and can be transferred to a new vehicle.
